【摘要】:Thisspecificationestablishestheminimumrequirementsforthemechanicaldesign,manufacture,inspection,andtestingofcircularmetallicbellows-typeexpansionjointsusedtoabsorbthedimensionalchangesresultingfrompipingthermalexpansionorcontraction,aswellasthemovementofterminalequipmentandsupportingstructures.Additionalorbetterfeatures,overandabovetheminimumrequirementssetbythisspecification,arenotprohibitedbythisspecification.Thelayoutofmanypipingsystemsprovidesinherentflexibilitythroughnaturalchangesindirectionsothatanydisplacementsproduceprimarilybendingortorsionalstrains,withinacceptablelimits.Wherethesystemlacksthisinherentflexibilitythedesignershouldthenconsideraddingflexibilitythroughtheuseofmetallicbellows-typeexpansionjoints.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
